The Sports Business and Leadership Association ("SBLA") is a non-profit organization for professionals working in sports. The SBLA's core mission is to organize an affinity group of professionals working in the sports business industry and to educate them on trending sports business issues. The goal of the SBLA is to raise funds for a scholarship program that will help underprivileged youth attend sports camps and inspire them to pursue a college education. The SBLA's goal is to raise money for the purpose of providing underprivileged children with the financial means to attend a summer sports camp at a university (the "SBLA Scholarship Program"). The SBLA Scholarship Program is designed to improve children's lives through sports by inspiring them to attend college and play a varsity sport. The SBLA currently has three chapters – Miami, FL, Tampa, FL, and Denver, CO. The SBLA is actively pursuing the creation of chapters in major cities across the U.S. Each SBLA chapter will meet monthly (or bi-monthly) in their respective city to host speakers, to discuss trending sports business issues, and to organize and discuss fundraising events and other matters of concern.
