During the summer, lifeguards staff and patrol the beach on a daily basis, providing guidance and direction relative to hazardous conditions, marine animals, and first aid.The Atlantic Beach Ocean Rescue organization participates in training and professional competitions with other lifeguard organizations throughout the region, the state, the country, and the world.The hours for the Atlantic Beach Lifeguards are Monday - Friday from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Saturday - Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.Lifeguards full time beach sitting starts on Memorial weekend and ends Labor Day weekend.
