Director at Uganda Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Initiative (UEEI) - Kampala, Central Region, Uganda
UEEI is a multi-stakeholder initiative bolstering entrepreneurship in Uganda through a bottom-up ecosystem building approach. The initiative has a long term view of strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Uganda, cognizant of the fact that such an effort is complex in nature and requires careful development/ management of various interrelated elements some of which may be conflicting at various parts of the journey. Phase I, completed in 2019, consisted of an assessment of the environment in which Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs) operate in Kampala and Gulu, as well as the design of a strategy to strengthen those two entrepreneurial ecosystems. The analysis and recommendations from this phase serve as critical input for the design and implementation of Phase II. UEEI Phase II launched in July 2020 as a multiyear, multi-stakeholder initiative to address the binding constraints identified in Phase I. Our aim is to catalyze a thriving, self-sustaining entrepreneurial ecosystem, first in Kampala and later in other Ugandan cities.Listen and subscribe to our podcast, Ground Up: bit.ly/GroundUpPodcast
