MiA- Mindfulness in Arabic, is a non-profit organization established to answer a call of the Arabic society, for culturally sensitive and trauma informed Mindfulness tools, exercises and lessons in Arabic. These are tailored to support a shaken refugee population that carries traumatic experiences of fear, loss, extreme impermanence and violence.We hope that these practices given in their mother tongue, will help refugees shed some of their traumatic imprints. The possibilities to start a new, to come to terms with loss, the reconnecting to basic goodness, and finding ways to tap into empathy and compassionate communication, all may stem out of Mindfulness practice and knowledge. These are truly necessary in chaos crisis and in their wake.This is achieved through the creation of the first ever interactive online eight-week meditation course in Arabic, uniquely designed for refugees and displaced people, and the implementation of a 3-staged Training of Trainers (TOT) for Arabic speaking facilitators and Mindfulness practitioners. The graduates of the TOT will serve as the human backbone of the MiA online course and implement field trainings in refugee communities in the Middle East, Europe and Mid-Asia.We are inspired to bring this to the world at this time because we feel that this epidemic of displaced people is great and affecting millions in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.We do hope that this project will bring more kindness to the points of contact between different cultures, respect to the other and the ability to live side by side.We believe this will serve the reduction of violence, stop the perpetuation of trauma and support World peace at large.To learn more about Mindfulness in Arabic (MiA) please enter the site belowhttps://www.mindfulnessinarabic.org/Thank you :)
