Codling Wind Park represents one of the largest energy infrastructure investments in Ireland this decade and is set to become Ireland's largest offshore wind farm, being developed in the Irish Sea.Our ambition is to not only develop a project of which Ireland can be proud, but to help create the right conditions for the development of a strong and sustainable offshore wind industry in Ireland. We want to contribute to Ireland's low carbon ambitions and help generate a cleaner environment, not only for today's generation, but for generations to come. Codling Wind Park will deliver substantial benefits to local communities, the regional and national economy, including more than 1,000 construction jobs and 70 long-term, locally based jobs. In addition to having the potential to supply up to 70% of all Irish households with sustainable, renewable electricity, Codling Wind Park could save almost 2 million tonnes of carbon emissions every year.Codling Wind Park is in the early stages of development. Olsen Renewables.Subject to all necessary permits and consents being received, Codling could begin construction in 2024/25. With the potential to generate enough locally produced renewable electricity to power the equivalent of up to 1.2 million homes annually, Codling Wind Park will support the delivery of Ireland's Climate Action Plan targets. It will also help reduce Ireland's reliance on imported fossil fuel-based energy and significantly improve energy security.
