CooP-Africa (Cycling out of Poverty-Africa) is a charity organisation based in the Netherlands and operating in East Africa. We improve access to income generation, education and health care by providing bicycles and supporting social bicycle enterprises. We believe that a bicycle can make a difference in this world for reasons of health, education, poverty alleviation and environment.CooP-Africa is the mother organisation that supports the activities from CooP- Uganda and CooP-Kenya. These organisations run the Social Projects:-BIKE4WORK: to improve access to income-BIKE4SCHOOL: to improve access to education-BIKE4CARE: to improve access to health careThe support the social projects, the following social enterprises were founded:-THE GREEN HUB: bicycle center for innovative bicycle assembly and repair-BIKEVENTURES: bicycle tours and rentals.WHY THE BICYCLE?The bicycle provides possibilities for better access to income, education and health, and improves the socioeconomic position of African families. Besides, the bicycle is an environmentally-friendly mode of transport which provides opportunities for a sustainable society.
