At present our website is just a parked place holder. Our principle internet contact point is on Facebook. We can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/TransitionCalgary Transition Calgary is an affiliation of Social Justice, Environmental, Academic, NGOs, Civic and Community Groups as well as individuals who cooperate with the intention of building local resilience within the Calgary Region. Resilience encompasses food, local currency, transportation, community building and reskilling as some of it's main focuses. Localization and community action are key tools in achieving this. Building Resilience is the means by which Transition Initiatives are striving to deal the present and future challenges posed by Peak Oil (and the consequent decline in petroleum based energy, and it's associated effects). In Calgary the Transition Initiative is developing through numerous distributed activities, carried out by many separate organizers and participants. Some of the organizations include Green Calgary, Momentum, the Arusha Centre, Thrive, Calgary Harvest, the Good Life Community Bike Shop, Civic Camp, The Pembina Institute and the Hillhurst and Sunnyside Community Association.
