Since 1994, The Halal Food Authority (HFA) has operated independently as a commercial wing, under an independent not-for-profit registered charity - involved in halal supervision, inspection, auditing, training and halal certification. The HFA has halal certificated sites across the UK, Europe, and Asia. We are accredited to ISO/IEC 17065:2012 and GSO 2055 -2:2015. We work with some of the world’s most recognised brands: on a local, national, international, and global level – satisfying the demands of both consumers and industry. Beyond the certification of meat and poultry, we also certify establishments that produce, package, distribute, export and supply: halal ingredients, additives, flavors, emulsifiers, oils and fats, pharmaceuticals and personal care products. HFA has a Board of Trustees who have been working voluntarily without any commercial benefits and/or salaries. They have a responsibility for directing the affairs of our organisation, and ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivers on its core objectives. HFA also has a Board of independent Islamic Scholars / Ulemas who provide guidance on Halal certification matters on a regular basis. We are proud to be able to say that our team have earned qualifications in the following: • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training • BRC Global Standards – Third Party Auditor training • ISO 17021 & ISO 19011 • ISO 22000 (FSMS) – Lead Auditor • Food Safety • GSO 2055-2 training – GCC Standardization Training Center • MUI International Halal Auditor Training, Indonesia • International Halal Technical Capacity Development - JAKIM • Cosmetic Production • Advance Meat Quality training - AHDB Beef and Lamb • Food for Thought, RVC (Royal Veterinary College) • Meat and Poultry Food Chain training in association with the University of Bristol • Animal Welfare Ocer (AWO) training - University of Bristol
