Wag & Company is a registered charity enabling professionally assessed volunteers and their special dogs to befriend older dog lovers across the North East of England who miss friendship and the company of a dog.Visiting Wag Teams visit their elderly friends at home as well as in care and medical establishments right across the 12 unitary authorities of the North East. Wag & Company is the only visiting dog charity in the UK to visit people in their own homes.Loneliness is a substantial issue in our region with over 50,000 pensioners reporting to feel lonely all or most of the time. 36% of North East households are dog owning, so there are many lonely pensioners in need of our special friends.For more information, see www.wagandcompany.co.uk.
