Pie Ranch is a regenerative farm and food education center. Our mission is to inspire and connect rural and urban people to know the source of their food, and to work together to bring greater health to the food system from seed to table. At Pie Ranch we are creating a more sustainable food system by providing pathways for new farmers to begin operating locally, teaching youth about healthy food and communities, and partnering with organizations around our area to promote a healthy food system for all.Early in 2018 we secured a 10-year lease at Cascade Ranch, a neighboring 416-acre farm. Here we are developing a climate resilient farm that weaves together traditional ecological knowledge in partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band with regenerative agriculture practices including row crops and livestock. The Regenerator Program at Cascade Ranch supports new farm business ownership specifically for women, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, People of Color, including the LGBTQIA community and others who have been historically marginalized from equity-building pathways in agriculture. In 2020 we committed to an ongoing partnership with Be Present Inc with the goal to further examine the impact of race, gender, class, and power issues within our organization and build the Be Present Empowerment Model into the culture of Pie Ranch. In 2021 & 2022 we are working to build back from the impacts of COVID-19 and the wildfires and continue to strive toward becoming an antiracist, multiracial organization that cultivates health and justice in the food system.
