Industrial Refrigeration (IR) was founded in 1958 when Mr.Ramprasad Ruia pioneered Car Air Conditioning in India. Mr. Ruia decided to name his company Gorakhram Haribux (GH), after his ancestors, Gorakhram & Haribux.Car Air Conditioning was followed by Room Air Conditioning. Over the years, IR's portfolio grew by the addition of Refrigerant gases, Solenoid Valves, Expansion Valves, Thermostats, Controls, Refrigeration Quality Copper Tubes, etc.In the Mid '60s, Gorakhram Haribux was appointed exclusive distributor of Refrigerant Gases by Daikin Kogyo - Japan's No. 1 Refrigerant Gas manufacturer. GH pioneered the procurement and debulking of one-ton containers of Refrigerant Gases into smaller containers of capacities ranging from 10 to 70 Kgs.These Refrigerants were sold wherever cooling was required. Over the years, GH garnered customers from every field, from Steel plants to Blade manufacturers, from Airports & Hospitals to Cinema Halls.In 1974, IR established a factory at Andheri, Mumbai for assembling Car Air conditioners, Room Air Conditioners, Cooling Coils, Ice Plants and Tube Kits for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry.
