Today, the Specsavers Partnership enjoys global success. With more than 1,800 stores and in 10 countries, we are one of the world's largest optical retailers and audiology businesses. In Australia and New Zealand, we opened our first stores in 2008, and have been growing constantly ever since. Ten years on, we have more than six million active customers on our Aus/NZ database and more than $1 billion in annual sales.The Specsavers business operates as a Joint Venture Partnership, meaning the stores are co-owned and managed by their directors. They are supported by a range of support office and field teams in areas such as Marketing, Accounting, IT, Business Development, Supply Chain and more.The Australian and New Zealand business now has more than 379 stores providing affordable, accessible eye care across the two countries - where, annually, we perform almost four million eye tests and dispense more than five million pairs of glasses. Supporting our store partners, we also operate the largest optical manufacturing facility in Aus/NZ, which opened in Port Melbourne in 2009 facilitating fast delivery of prescription eyewear to our customers.Most recently, we launched Specsavers Audiology in Australia and (as at 1 July 2018) currently have almost 50 business locations open and operating. All Specsavers Audiology businesses are hosted within a Specsavers Optometry store.
