Founded in 2001, Humdingers mission was to deliver a range of natural snacks with a difference. The demand for innovative snacks by far exceeded expectations and as a result Humdinger has developed and grown, expanding its portfolio of products and building a reputation for quality and product innovation. In 2013, the business was acquired by Zertus to help drive continued growth. Now operating across two locations in the UK, Humdinger manufacture a core range of value-added snacks, which include dried fruits, seeds and nuts. In addition to manufacturing private label products for the UK food retailers, Humdinger have also supplied premium snack solutions for many famous food brands such as Budweiser, Guinness, Ocean Spray, Marmite and Vimto. Their own range of brands includes The Fruit Factory, The Sun Valley Nut Company, Yum and Yay and Humzingers. The business has two outstandingly equipped production sites and one functional storage unit in which a total of some 450 people are employed. A large part of the savoury snacks are produced in Heckington in Lincolnshire, which is where Humdinger is able to achieve the full spectrum of different flavours by roasting, deep-frying and coating. The Bromborough site processes over 23,000 tonnes per year and is a supplier of high-quality peanut and nut-based products through the retail customer own brands, Food Service and ingredient channels as well as nuts, peanut butters and crisps under its own The Sun Valley Nut Co and Nuts For brands. In addition, in 2021 Bromborough launched a peanut butter for dogs following the launch of anumber of customer brands into this growing pet-snacking market. “Pawnutts” is proud to sponsor a “Dogs for Good” support dog through training, aptly named “Peanuts” The breadth of the operational capacity gives Humdinger the ability to offer flexibility and choice to their customers.
