Deputy Director of Programs at Silver Eye Center for Photography - Pittsburgh, PA, US
For thirty years, Pittsburgh's Silver Eye Center for Photography has been at the forefront of celebrating photography as an expressive art form and its ever-changing and influential role in shaping contemporary culture and life.A nationally-recognized, non-collecting institution, Silver Eye is the only nonprofit organization in the region with this unique scope and focus on contemporary photography and related photo multimedia. We accomplish our mission by organizing approximately 3-5 free exhibitions per year, which take place onsite, online and, at times, in the community. They present the most important trends and ideas defining the current state of photography, and feature work by iconic figures, younger but already well established artists from the region and well beyond, and photographers just beginning to build their reputations.Silver Eye also offers a wide range of programs for people involved in image-making and collecting, for schools and university groups, youth, adults, and families, and anyone with an interest in and curiosity about art and culture.
