These include the first pricing gun (1959), the wavy edge label with security cut (1968) besides various price cassettes and displays. METO was founded in 1918 by Adolf Metzger and Oskar Kind in Cologne. Since 2016, METO has been part of CCL Industries Inc., a leader in label and packaging solutions for businesses and consumers, where it operates as a separate unit in CCL's Avery division. The headquarter of the European METO business with production and warehouse is Hirschhorn/Neckar, close to Heidelberg in Germany.
