Assistant Director of Development at Foundations In Educations, Inc.
Mission: Foundations in Education, Inc. is committed to strengthen and transform the mission of Catholic education in the Diocese of Bridgeport by supporting innovation in academic and extra-curriculum programs, fostering opportunities for the professional development of school leaders and providing tuition assistance to families in need.Foundations in Education was incorporated in 2015 to benefit the students of Diocese of Bridgeport sponsored Catholic schools. Originally begun by the Most Reverend Frank J. Caggiano as the Bishop's Scholarship Fund, Foundations in Education evolved and was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-for-profit foundation with an exclusive mission to serve Catholic education in the Diocese of Bridgeport. A separate entity from the Diocese, Foundations in Education is governed by a lay Board of Trustees. The signature program of Foundations in Education is the Bishop's Scholarship Fund which provides tuition assistance for students in grades K-8 from low-income families in diocesan sponsored schools. Foundations in Education provides on average $2.3 million dollars to more than 1,300 children each year so they may attend a Catholic school, ensuring all families who choose to send their children to these schools are able to do so, regardless of their financial situation. Foundations also sponsors a competitive grant program for teachers and administrators to promote innovation in the classroom and leadership development of teachers either in their subject area, across their grade level or as future administrators. Ultimately we seek to promote schools that will work to form, inform and transform students for a future they deserve. These grants are intended for innovative projects or initiatives that benefit children across grade levels and that will have a long term impact on student learning.
