Researcher at UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UPF - Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain
The UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change was established by agreement between ESCI-UPF and UNESCO on December 2010. The idea of creating this UNESCO Chair came from the Environmental Management Research Group (GiGa), founded by Dr. Pere Fullana i Palmer aiming to expand and exchange knowledge on Life Cycle Assessment and its applicability to prevent and minimise climate change in a more international framework. GiGa is, as of 2011, the UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change. The purpose of the Chair shall be to promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the fields of environment and sustainable development on products and processes with an integrated vision to promote environmental models which can stimulate at the same time social and economical development. Moreover, the UNESCO Chair promotes activities in an international framework facilitating partnerships among worldwide well-know researchers and lecturers of Universities and other institutions from Europe, Latin America, Caribbean and Africa, as other regions as well.
