Genel Enerji A.S. is an independent Exploration and Production (E&P) company registered in Turkey and owned by the Çukurova Holdings Group, which is among the largest industrial and commercial conglomerates with numerous investments ranging from automotive, telecommunications, media, textile, energy and information technology services. Since February 2003, Genel Enerji has assumed operations of the few, already existing field installations including three wells and some basic production and crude oil processing facilities, and has continued uninterrupted activities. Through the operating entity, Genel Enerji presently employs in excess of 200 petroleum industry professionals in the field and at operating offices in Ankara, the Taq Taq field, Erbil and Sulaimaniyah.After investment company Vallares reverse took over/merged with Genel Enerji by November 2011, Genel Energy was created.
