The Functional Airspace Block Europe Central – FABEC – covers the lower and upper airspace of six States (Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland) and is located at the heart of continental Europe. Its airspace is one of the busiest and most complex in the world. FABEC handles about six million flights per year - 55% of European air traffic.FABEC members work in close cooperation to improve safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness, to ensure punctual flights by providing the capacity required, to reduce emissions and to offer more direct routes to airlines.
