Aurora Spirit is the northernmost distillery in the world at 69.39°N. Set deep within the Arctic circle the distillery and its visitors centre is located at the foot of the majestic Lyngen Alps. The ground the distillery is built on not only offers beautiful surroundings, but also history, as it previously used to be a NATO coastal fort, built during the Cold War.Made to be a Whisky distillery, Aurora Spirit makes use of the fort infrastructure, and stores the casks in old NATO bunkers. Under the brand name Bivrost, Aurora Spirit produces world-class gin, vodka, and the regional spirit aquavit. With a strong focus on quality, the distillery makes use of locally harvested Arctic botanicals, and naturally filtered glacial melt water.The distillery is open to visitors, and offer guided tours and tastings.
