RiverCenter Incorporated is a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization with a 2.8 million dollar operating budget. It presents its own season of shows and educational programs while managing RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, located in the heart of uptown Columbus, Georgia. The Center is a keystone that supports the cultural life of the community. Since 2002 RiverCenter has hosted hundreds of national and international shows and immersed over a million patrons in the performing arts. In addition to presenting its own season of shows and educational programs, RiverCenter provides a home for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Schwob School of Music, Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus, Cantus Columbus, the Columbus Ballet, and many third-party tours.The 245,000-square-foot facility is a visually stunning blend of the past and the present, mixing the brick and ironwork of the area's historic buildings with a modern multi-level glass and steel façade. Its spacious entrance is graced by a tall glass "curtain" wall and a soaring staircase. RiverCenter's state-of-the-art facilities includes: the center's main venue, a modern and massive 2,000-seat Bill Heard Theatre; the elegant and intimate 430-seat Legacy Hall; the 150-seat black-box Studio Theater; and an outdoor event space on the Illges Plaza.
