Belady (meaning "my country" in Arabic) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit human rights organization established in 2017. We defend and empower the most vulnerable amongst us, focusing on Egyptian women and children arrested for political reasons. We advocate civil and political rights, aiming to promote transparency and accountability in order to curb violations. Specifically, we provide legal defense and psychosocial support for victims, and conduct research and data collection to raise awareness of the struggles faced by political prisoners. We operate from our offices in the U.S., Tunisia, and Egypt.
