Gazmuri M.D., Ph.D. FCCM in 2017 with the mission of developing and commercializing new therapies and strategies for resuscitation from life-threatening medical emergencies in pre-hospital and hospital settings in civilian and military environments. The company has its roots in decades of preclinical research conducted by the founder and his team at the Resuscitation Institute of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science identifying promising new therapies and strategies for resuscitation.Developing more effective treatments for resuscitation from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is one of the key target areas of RTx. The American Heart Association estimates that approximately 347,000 adults suffer an episode of SCA outside the hospital every year and are assessed by an Emergency Medical Service. Of these SCA victims, 28% survive to hospital admission, 10.5% survive to hospital discharge, and 8.5% survive with good neurological function corresponding to approximately 29,000 of the initial 347,000.
