AITP Atlanta Chapter is the local chapter of the national Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), which comprises members at all levels and roles within the IT industry including CIOs, Senior Managers, Project Delivery, Service Delivery, Software Development, Vendors and Consultants.The association has a strong bond with academic institutions, and includes many affiliated Student Chapters. A founding principle of the association is to support professional development within the IT community, and in support of this they offer mentoring and leadership to assist students to become IT professionals.The Atlanta AITP chapter has been serving computer and information related professionals in Atlanta for over fifty years. A sponsorship of AITP student chapters includes American Intercontinental University, Chattahoochee Technical College, DeKalb Technical College, Georgia College and State University, Georgia Southern University, Gwinnett Technical College, Lanier Technical College, Southern Polytechnic State University and Western Carolina University.
