The dealership opened in 2007 as part of the family-owned and operated Gates of Northern Indiana. In April 2015, Jeff Hobson, who has been co-owner and president since 2007, became the sole owner of the dealership and has renamed it Hobson Chevrolet Buick GMC. The only change to the dealership is the name.
