A multi-disciplinary and comprehensive approach to wound treatment and healing. Established in 2005, the Wound Treatment Center, LLC (TWTC) is comprised of a variety of health care professionals who work together towards achieving a common goal of effectively and efficiently treating wound care issues. Our physicians and nurses who have undergone specialized training in wound care are joined by nutritionists and other professionals to provide services specific to wound care. Throughout treatment, the primary physician participates in the plan of care and is kept informed of the patient's progress and treatments. The appropriate therapy is determined by the unit physician, based on her/his clinical assessment, the patient's condition, cost of treatment, and the environmental support factors for the patient. The scope of our service involves five phases: assessment, intervention, re-evaluation, patient education, and outcome measurement. The Wound Treatment Center offers a full range of therapies for the treatment of wounds, including: Conventional wound care therapy; Debridement; Specialty dressings; Patient education; Hyperbaric oxygen therapy; Compression therapy; Growth factors and bio-engineered tissue products, when approved by the Food and Drug Administration; and Coordination of specialty services including: home health, guidance, nutritional counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and orthotics.
