The Elder Automotive group has recently acquired Romeo Ford and has renamed it Elder Ford of Romeo. Romeo Ford was in business for 34 years. Founded as Troy Ford in 1967 by the late James Elder, the franchise has grown over the years and established itself as one of the premier dealer groups. When Mr. Elder passed away in 1983, his wife, Irma Elder, assumed leadership of the company. She was the first woman to own a Ford dealership in Michigan! Trained by the Ford Motor Company, she took on the leadership role with grace and gusto, providing a strong and viable future for her children. Her passing nearly four years ago ushered in her son Rob as leader of the family business. Rob Elder is very proud of the family's automotive heritage.
