The Domestic Violence Council (DVC) is the only nonprofit organization in the Omaha and Douglas County area in Nebraska that unites people, services and systems to end intimate partner violence. Through research, assessment, education, and facilitating collaborative partnerships we work to make sure that every person who reaches out for help will find it.The DVC has been working to end intimate partner violence since 1996. As Douglas County's coordinating force among government agencies, the courts and local nonprofits, it is our job to build collaborative partnerships within the community. To this end we:• leverage collective resources to end relationship abuse in our community.• improve the system by providing safety assessment and recommendations that are based on evaluation, research, and nationally held best practices.• provide training and coordinate the community to more effectively respond, prevent, and raise awareness to domestic violence issues.Victim safety and offender accountability is the goal of absolutely everything we do.
