While other universities' students are restricted to investing in domestic stock, Fordham undergraduates have the freedom to experiment with international and domestic securities, bonds, commodities, and foreign exchange.Your Role: Analyst and Portfolio ManagerAdvised by finance professor James R. Kelly, who also designed the Gabelli School's secondary concentration in value investing, the Student Managed Investment Fund program spans two semesters: Participants act as sector-specific analysts in their first term — in areas from emerging markets to energy to healthcare — and move on to become portfolio managers in the second.The Student Managed Investment Fund experience is an element of distinction on any finance student's résumé. Alumni of the fund have gone on immediately after graduation to front-office positions at prestigious financial institutions such as Goldman Sachs, Barclays Bank, and J.P. Morgan.
