Development and Communications Manager at Turnaround Arts: California - , California, United States
Part of a national public-private partnership that leverages the arts to spark transformation in the nation's highest-need schools, Turnaround Arts: California is one of 14 partner organizations from across the nation working with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education, the National Endowment for the Arts, and several private foundations.Turnaround Arts: California infuses schools with creative resources such as arts supplies, musical instruments, and licensing rights to perform school musicals. We mentor principals to lead for change through the arts, and we ensure that teachers are trained to integrate the arts into other subjects, like reading and math. We provide funding for schools to partner with local arts organizations and bring teaching artists into the classroom. From an annual national conference, to ongoing coaching and convenings of teachers and school leaders — we connect school teams to arts education experts as well as a network of peer schools. We partner with schools to build a strategic, arts-based approach to addressing broader school challenges. Eight pillars guide arts-fueled transformation at each school.
