Nava Art Centre was formally incorporated in 2003 by Hossein Behroozinia as a cultural centre for learning and performing fine arts. We educate students in calligraphy, sculpting, painting, and dubbing. Our musical education includes the study of Iranian stringed and percussion instruments such as Barbat, Oud, Tar, Setar, Tombak, and Daf as well as Western classical music such as Violin, Guitar, and Piano. Nava Art Centre has organized international tours featuring prominent instrumentalists and vocalists from various musical traditions. Since 2006, the centre has expanded to include a recording studio that has successfully produced albums and tracks in Iranian traditional music. Nava Art Centre has expanded their services to include ticket sales. We now sell tickets to many cultural events and concerts throughout Greater Vancouver. Nava Art Society is a non profit branch of Nava Art Centre founded in 2013 by Soheila Manesh, Lida Baghaei, and Mehrzad Karimi zand. Nava Art Society has been collaborating with Vancouver Intercultural Orchestra to create performance opportunities for music students. This collaboration resulted in the establishment of Nava Intercultural Orchestra which includes students and instruments from Iranian, Chinese, and Western backgrounds. This orchestra provides the opportunity for students to start performing early on in their education under the guidance of experienced mentors from each tradition. Nava Intercultural Orchestra has had successful performances in the past and is currently training students for future events.
