Kiplin Hall and Gardens is a Charitable Incorporated Company (CIO, number 1155907) with a mission to preserve Kiplin Hall and its surrounding gardens and estates for the benefit of the nation. The Hall is of Jacobean design originally, built by George Calvert, the founder of the first colony in Maryland, USA. It has been much modified by his descendants, who owned the hall for 400 years before it was given to an independent charitable trust by the last owner, Bridget Talbot in 1971.
