In 2003, entrepreneurs Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban founded 2929 Productions to develop, finance and produce independent feature films outside of the Hollywood studio system. Within two years, 2929 had co-financed George Clooney's "Good Night, and Good Luck."—which grossed more than $30 million at the domestic box office and racked up a slew of awards including the National Board of Review's Best Picture of the Year honor and six Academy Award® nominations, including one for Best Picture. In the same year, 2929 produced "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room," which earned an Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary and an Oscar® nomination for Best Feature-Length Documentary.Ever since that early success, 2929 has looked onward, with a sharp focus on narratives that are either filmmaker-driven, socially conscious, or unheralded true stories—often all three! 2929 Productions is currently in post-production on three new films and developing many more, which will continue its tradition of thought-provoking and entertaining films and television, while always looking to adapt their stories and their tellings to the ever-changing times.Additional credits include: "Akeelah and the Bee," "We Own the Night," "Two Lovers," "The Burning Plain," "The Road," "Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie," "Deadfall," and "Serena."
