Genesis Joy House is making history by being the first transitional housing facility in Houston County (Middle Georgia) to house our homeless female veterans.Our mission is to facilitate social change and empower our veterans and community by providing transitional housing, enrichment programs, and counseling services to improve quality of life.Our vision is to end chronic homelessness among female veterans in our communities.It's estimated that the ranks of homeless female veterans had risen more than 140 percent since 2006. For the sacrifices they and their families have made, this is an unacceptable state for any of them to be in. The challenges facing our veterans are mounting. However, many more community-based service providers and workers remain overwhelmed due to a severe lack of tangible resources.Genesis is creating a pioneering solution to help our female veterans overcome two of the greatest challenges associated with homelessness and incarceration. Through providing residential housing and uplifting programs, Genesis will be poised to noticeably impact homelessness and incarceration among our female veterans in America.
