Over 500 generating units shut down that afternoon resulting in the power being shut off to over 55 million people in Canada and the United States, which inspired people to generate connections and conversations.The GenWell Project wants to remind people about the importance of these face to face connections and inspire them to take action on GenWell Weekends and beyond. We host GenWell Weekends each spring and fall as our reminder to not put off reaching out any longer. We all crave face to face connection and the GenWell Project wants you to make us the excuse to reach out and get connected with friends, family or neighbours. Taking the steps to generate great connections and conversations will build relationships that will benefit you and the people you get together with!A GenWell Project doesn't need to be an all-day affair. It doesn't need to be big and it certainly doesn't need to be expensive, but it certainly should be fun, and we hope that the kids will get involved as well. Maybe a coffee with a friend or neighbour, maybe a BBQ with extended family, maybe an overdue catch up with old friends or maybe a street long sporting activity or pot luck? Whatever you choose is what is right for you to take the steps that will make you happier and healthier and also make the world a happier and healthier place by getting people connected face to face.
