Ashby Village is a non-profit that provides the connection, support, and resources for people over 50 as they age in their homes. Our members throughout the East Bay enjoy in-home personal support, transportation support, and cultural, social and wellness activities! Our flexible approach and easy scheduling also allows members to tap into our community activities and services as they need them, when they want them. Members pay dues and contribute what they can while volunteers of all ages also provide services and programs that enhance our quality of life today, while also helping develop peace of mind about the future. Overview of ServicesConnection - We host a broad range of social and cultural activities and events each month, including neighborhood potlucks, group hikes, book clubs, happy hours and parties. It's easy to make new friendships within our cross-generational community of members and volunteers.Support - Village members are just a phone call away from a host of volunteer services, including rides to doctor appointments, minor household repairs, computer assistance and help with gardening, pet care and light housekeeping.Resources - Members also can get referrals to carefully vetted paid service providers, including gardeners, painters, attorneys, accountants and personal care attendants.Who and WhereOur members are residents of Berkeley, Albany, Kensington, El Cerrito, Emeryville, and parts of Oakland. We also have an extensive network of volunteers and local businesses who support their aging community members. We host events at the Ashby Village main office (1821 Catalina Ave), but each respective region plans many local events as well.
