The Trumbull Housing Authority (THA) is a low income, CT Public Housing Authority for the Elderly and Disabled. There are 186 units in Stern Village and 36 units in the Congregate or Stern Center.The Village is a vibrant community comprised of energetic and enthusiastic 62+ year old seniors & 18+ year old disabled people. We are governed by the CHFA. The land and property is owned by the Trumbull Housing Authority. We are not a HUD property & we do not accept families with young children.The Congregate or Stern Center is for the frail and elderly. Congregants must be 62+ years old and have one or more difficulties with daily living. The CT DOH provides funding to the Congregate for services. These include apartment cleaning, a daily gourmet, full-course Noon meal and an attendant is available in the office 24/7.The THA is committed to the safety and well-being of the residents of Stern Village by providing a better quality of life by creating a positive and supportive environment.The THA offers many activities to promote social interaction in our vibrant community.The Community Room is alive with many activities, clubs and social gatherings. The residents enjoy Thursday Night Wii Bowling and Game Night, Friday Night - Movie Night, Trips to the Mall, Holiday or Themed Parties, Computer Classes and lots more! Executive Director, Harriet Polansky has a monthly resident meeting called Tuesday's Tea with Harriet, to keep the residents informed and updated.Friends of Stern VillageExecutive Director, Harriet Polansky, strives to build lasting community relationships. Several of Trumbull's organizations have been active in Stern Village.
