Mr. Dobbie formed a consulting business upon his retirement as City Manager from the City of Burlington in 2007 drawing upon his experience in management, leadership, land use development and government relations. Tim is the former Director of the Jobs Prosperity Collaborative of Hamilton which is a partnership of concerned individuals who are leaders in industry, commerce, health care, education, social services, the arts and the labour movement with a shared vision and simple, but ambitious goals: to make Hamilton a great city in which to grow, learn, work, innovate and invest. He has been involved in many executive searches including the City of Brampton, Markham, Burlington Library, Brant County and Oxford County and the Canadian Urban Institute; organizational reviews in Belleville, Scugog, Region of Waterloo, Town of Parry Sound, City of Hamilton City of London, as well as a governance review for the Region of Peel determining planning responsibilities between Peel and the area municipalities – Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon; strategic plan consultation for the Region of York , the Region of Waterloo and the Town of Lincoln; consultations for land developers in Burlington, Georgetown and Hamilton as well as ongoing executive assistance for the Hamilton Utilities Corporation.
