UPC ecoRacing is a technological research association mainly composed by students from the Escola Superior d'Enginyeries Industrial, Aeronàutica I Audiovisual de Terrassa (ESEIAAT) from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), with the main objective of developing single-seaters to participate in Formula Student events. In 2010, UPC ecoRacing introduced their first car: the ecoR2. It was a revolution, since it was the first competition hybrid car designed and assembled in Spain. It achieved an impressive second place overall in the Formula Student Electric & Hybrid Italy event in Turin. After some technical improvements, the team achieved a second position in Formula Student Spain 2011. In 2012, the ecoR2 won the Static Events and finished third place overall at the Formula Hybrid competition in the US.After a great stage, the team selected new students that designed the ecoRZ, a 100% electric concept car, and competed with it in Formula SAE Italy 2014, where it won the Static Events. In 2015, the ecoRZ was built and it competed in Formula Student, in Silverstone, where it reached the first place within the electric championship in Cost and the fourth at Business Plan. It also competed in Formula SAE Italy, where it finished second in Autocross and Cost and fourth in Acceleration. Finally, it became the champion of Cost in Formula Student Spain.Last 2016, the new ecoRZ competed in Formula Student, where it won the most efficient car prize. This trophy was revalidated in Formula Student Germany. Finally, the team ended up winning the Best Spanish team and establishing the record in Acceleration for a rear wheel drive car, with a time of 0-100 km/h in just 2.6 sec, in Formula Student Spain. This 2017 season has started with Formula SAE Australasia, where the team won the competition for the electric category, as well as the Design, and getting a third position in Acceleration, Efficiency and Business Plan. And now?Just visit our page: www.ecoracing.es
