Vishandel Klooster is a fish production company.Our History:Since In 1922 Gerrit Klooster the first, began his smokehouse in a small building behind his house in the middle of the city Centre in Enkhuizen. Farms:Our central location is Nijvis. This company built in 1989, is owner of three fish farms in Bergeijk NL, Germany and Morocco.Assortment:All our products are smoked hot on 72 °C which results in a specific and distinctive flavor. We smoke eels, herring, salmon, trout, mackerel and halibut and all our fish products are filleting by hand to ensure a high and constant quality.Certifications:Klooster is accredited by IFS LEVEL. These Food Safety Standards include a diverse range of prerequisites relating to food safety, hygiene, production processes, employees and customer demands. Besides IFS we also dispose over the MSC, ASC and SES certificates.We are a member of the NeVePaling and officially in possession of a license to make products with an Eel Stewardship Fund Logo (EFS).Animal-Welfare:Vishandel Klooster has been committed to animal-friendly production processes. We've a stunner, a special machine, in which eels get intoxicated within a second. With the help of Imares (Institue for Marine Resources & Ecosystem Studies) Life Stock research and machine builder SeaSide outstanding results has been achieved leading to a machine meeting all animal welfare requirements.
