We sum up our mission statement by using this phrase: "Making Disciples, Making a Difference." You'll hear it a lot around our church, and it becomes a great way to describe our mission and ministry. We are a progressive, service-minded Lutheran Church (part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – ELCA) that is eager to welcome people from all walks of life to join us in a journey of faith. Our Lutheran heritage helps ground us in our theology and style of worship, while also giving us a contemporary way to speak of God's grace and love for all people. We are a not a church that shouts a heavy-handed message of God's angry judgement. We are a church that looks to the Bible to learn of God's work of salvation through Christ, enlivened through the work of the Holy Spirit so that each person hears the call to live out an active life of faithful discipleship. We stress: - That the Gospel of God's love in Jesus Christ is for all people, of every stripe and variety - That people are welcome here, and encouraged to live out a life of joyful Christian discipleship - That each individual is loved by God, and is embraced by our faith family - That people's various gifts and abilities are celebrated and used for the good of all - That children and youth are not only welcomed, but expected to lead - That we can be a prayerful support for each other - That a life of active service is a great way to express your love for God
