PREM is a registered Canadian non profit that was started by young Punjabi advocates that faced a series of young suicides. PREM strives to use a creative lens to explore the topic of mental health and trauma in the South Asian community. Since its establishment in 2018 PREM has organized open mic night events across Canada, an iconic weekend conference on creative expression, mental health and trauma sponsored by Bell Lets Talk and Calgary Foundation and is currently premiering a short film on Bill 21 "Uproar" that explores the impact of Bill 21 / Laicity of the State Law on ethnic minority communities and its impact on mental health.
