Birmingham Gastroenterology Associates was established in 1978. Since that founding, we have grown to a group of 13 Board Certified Gastroenterologists. As gastroenterologists, we care for patients with diseases and disorders of the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver and pancreas. Gastroenterologists also receive specialized training in endoscopy, a non-surgical procedure which uses a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it to examine the inside of the digestive/intestinal tract.
