Inspired by his own experiences as an oral surgery patient, he pursued specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the University of Michigan. During this 6-year residency, he earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan, School of Medicine, gained extensive training in Anesthesiology and completed a 2-year internship in General Surgery. In addition, Dr. Schrotenboer obtained a Certificate in Microvascular Surgery that provides him with the expertise in the repair of nerves and blood vessels.While at the University of Michigan, Dr. Schrotenboer encountered a broad spectrum of patient cases that has given him the knowledge, skill, and judgment to treat many conditions of the mouth, jaw, face and neck.
