The Chez Panisse Foundation develops public school programs that use food to educate, nurture and empower youth. Our flagship program, the Edible Schoolyard, is a one acre organic garden and adjacent kitchen classroom where all students participate in tending and harvesting the garden and preparing and sharing fresh food. Since 2005 we have embarked on a new program to transform school lunch - from processed to fresh and wholesome, and made with local ingredients.
