Community Connect is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Since 1966 Community Connect has contributed to creating safe and healthy communities by fulfilling our mission to connect people in need with those who can help. With a staff of 48 people, hundreds of volunteers and a yearly budget of approximately $2,000,000 Community Connect assists more than 266,000 men, women and children through a vast array of services covering all of Riverside County. There are eight major program areas: • 211 Riverside County • Alternative Sentencing Program • HELPline: Crisis/Suicide Prevention • Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program • Nonprofit Resource Center • Housing Assistance Program • Transportation Assistance Program In the past year Community Connect: • Assisted over 266,000 individuals in need • Oversaw the distribution of 966 Christmas baskets • Referred 73,973 callers to 211 Riverside to community resources for various critical needs • Provided resources to an additional 47,215 people through the 211 website. • Answered 6,355 suicide/crisis prevention calls • Safeguarded more than 37,545 elderly residents in long term care facilities • Assisted 379 individuals with housing placement and rental assistance • Distributed 79,384 bus tickets to individuals who would have no other way to get to their destinations • Provided hundreds of Riverside County nonprofits with additional development and skill building Volunteers Several of our programs rely on the support and time of talented volunteers. Donations Our organization relies on funding from grants and the generous contributions from individuals.
