Incorporated in 2008 through the merger of the former Reiffton and Stonersville Fire Companies, the Exeter Township Fire Department is a combination volunteer and paid department that serves Exeter Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Operating from two stations, the department averages approximately 1000 calls for service annually. The ETFD first-due area consists of twenty-six square miles of suburban and rural environments including rivers, fields, lakes, mountains, strip malls, dairy farms, single family homes, apartments, 4-lane highways, dirt lanes, and everything in between. The ETFD operates three engine/rescue pumpers, one rural tanker, one tower ladder, and a variety of utility, brush, all terrain, and marine units. A comprehensive staffing program ensures firefighters are on-duty around the clock.
