Orwells was opened in 2010 by Michelin Star-winning chefs Ryan Simpson and Liam Trotman, inside a pretty pub in rural Oxfordshire, close to Henley-on-Thames. Their ethos is to serve high quality, sustainable food in a relaxed setting. Since opening, Orwells has achieved 4 AA Rosettes, a Michelin Guide Red Plate, a cooking score of 7/10 and are featured in the Good Food Guide's Top 50 at number 28, as well as being awarded their ‘Readers Restaurant of the Year' and 'Restaurant of The Year'. Orwells has also demonstrated an ‘exceptional standard of sustainability', they are a score of 5/4/3 in Harden's and sit at number 25 in their top 100. Orwells have been inspiring diners since 2010 with their dedication to sustainable, locally grown food. They grow 75% of the restaurants' fruit, vegetables and herbs in local polytunnels and only use the best meat and British fish from sustainable sources. They keep bees for honey which is used in cocktails and desserts, recycle 100% of waste. The co owners Liam & Ryan also have regular TV apprences, where they share their passion of food.
