Our mission is to bring Equity, Access & the Opportunity that swimming can bring to all of the people of Minneapolis!Our first project, was to raise money, lobby different governmental agencies, and build partnerships, to bring Minneapolis its first, indoor, public aquatic center, featuring two pools! This facility will be owned and operated by the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board, but could only have happened with the collaboration and support of the State of Minnesota, Hennepin County, Minneapolis Public Schools, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, The Minneapolis Foundation, Piper Family Fund, Margaret A. Cargill Foundation, Wells Fargo, Rouge Foundation, East Phillips Improvement Coalition, Midtown Phillips Neighborhood Association, Ventura Village, as well as a multitude of other generous donors.Groundbreaking on the Phillips Aquatics Center took place on March 28, 2017, and the anticipated completion date is December 15th, 2017.Our second project has been to establish the "Sha-Kym Adam Learn to Swim Fund", a scholarship fund for kids needing financial assistance with swimming instruction. Our next project is to establish a public, indoor swimming pool on the North side of Minneapolis.
