Care Package Inbound is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the purpose of delivering hope to all people through compassion, support, and love for the foster community. Located in Lenexa, Kansas, we focus our programs on supporting the foster care system in the greater Kansas City area.Care Package Inbound was founded in 2019 with the goal of providing a few care packages to youth entering the foster care system, and it has grown to a multitude of programs in the works to improving the current foster care system experience.Our main program is our care packages where we provide youth entering the foster care system a bag of essentials to help their transition be a bit smoother. This transition is stressful enough already, and many youth enter the system with few belongings or even just the clothes they are wearing. We aim to improve the experience for the youth by providing them a new set of clothes, personal hygiene items, and comfort items such as a blanket in a backpack assembled by volunteers.We are also currently developing a foster clothing and hygiene closet where we will provide foster youth and aged out foster youth new and gently used clothing items along with a variety of hygiene items. We understand the care packages are a good fix temporarily, but the closet aims to provide assistance on a more long-term basis as the youth get settled into their new home or as aged out foster youth are learning to navigate life.If you are interested in learning more about our cause and discovering ways you can support our foster youth, please head over to our website.
